Bishop Donald Mwawasi, a Diaspora University Town (DUT) founder and investor, is presenting DUT at Atlanta, GA in the USA. He is part of the Diaspora Kenyans working toward having Diaspora Remittances come to Kenya to create jobs. There are about 10,000 Diaspora Kenyans living in the Atlanta region. Bishop Mwawasi's goal is to get a few of them to join the DUT jobs creation, houses development and GDP growth plan.
When the Master Development Plan (MDP) was created, the nine primary resources for the development and sustenance of the university were as follows: WPI Plan, the academic system; the Master Development Plan (MDP), endowment and development system; Townhouse Developers Plan, individuals who become developers of Townhouses through the THIDA system; land for the university town development; design-build plan for producing the buildings, roads and sustaining the environment; the energy plan; the County Government incentives; the National Government Incentives; and, the Finance plan.
Bishop Mwawasi who is from Taita Taveta would join the ongoing plan. In 2015, he took the institution town development plan to the county government of Taita Taveta County for approval in accordance with Kenya Constitution 185 (4). The plan was approved and through the approved plan the County Government incentives resource was achieved.
In 2016, Bishop Mwawasi introduced the plan to Ndara B Community who would join with their land. The development plan achieved the land resource.
Today the project is progressing the finance plan resource. Bishop Mwawasi and close to 100 Diaspora Kenyans and Kenyans in Kenya, USA, UK and Europe are giving out flyers as they invite Diaspora Kenyans to be part of DUT.
In Atlanta, Bishop Mwawasi is joined by another four Diaspora Kenyans. Collectively the goal is to give out 500 flyers and bring on board persons to be part of jobs creation and housing development in Kenya.
Bishop Mwawasi who founded a church in the Atlanta region knows how important jobs are in sustaining life and the church. It is through jobs income that persons are able to feed, cloth, buy houses, educate their children and create churches and religious institutions for their spiritual needs.
The Bishop is working at opening a church at DUT as jobs are created. His message to Diaspora Kenyan and Kenyans, “Let’s create jobs for Generation Z.”
