Diaspora Kenyans Dream of Diaspora University Town (DUT)

“Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not," Robert Kennedy, brother of John F Kennedy the 35^th President of the U.S, is quoted saying as he rallied his fellow U.S citizens to develop their country. George Bernard Shaw a renowned writer and dramatist who was in 1925 awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, made the quote, “You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say 'Why not?” The dream of Diaspora University Town (DUT) continues to progress as Diaspora Kenyans stop seeing things in Kenya and asking, “Why?” They are today progressing the dream of Diaspora University Town as they say, “Why Not!”

Diaspora Kenyans for the last 20 years have remitted over $34 billion. During the same period they have asked many “Why?” questions:

1. Why can’t Kenya have good paved roads like the ones we have here in the U.S
2. Why can’t Kenya have good hospitals like the ones we work in here in the U.S?
3. Why is Kenya not creating jobs, like is done here in the U.S, so many people especially the young are not unemployed?
4. Why are rivers polluted with waste?
5. Why can’t we Kenyans be able to plan and develop good towns that have a clean healthy environment and good houses like the towns we live in here in the U.S?
6. Why can't we Kenyans use our remittances to become millionaires and billionaires like the ones in Forbes?

The dream of things that never were, and saying Why Not?  is today leading Diaspora Kenyans to dream for a better Kenyan. They are today progressing the DUT project and achieve the following:

1. 15,000 jobs created.
2. A town with 25,000 persons living in good houses, connected by well paved roads, with clean water, a sewage disposal system and a storm water management system.
3. A University that will progressively enroll children becoming adults to train them to achieve their dream and the dream for Kenya.
4. Daktari Biotechnology Ltd a company for medicines and vaccines production that will improve the quality of healthcare.
5. DUT Credit Ltd a financial institution that will support the dream.
6. Over 300 MSMEs that will progress the dream.
7. The Diaspora are progressin to create new wealth of Ksh 150 billion
